And to answer the original question, I'm 42 years old and have lived in 24 homes... only three of those were childhood homes (two in Maryland, one in California), while the rest were within my adult life. What can I say; I'm a nomad by nature! I get bored easily, and since all of them have been rentals, it's easy to pick up and move when I need a change of scenery. Pretty happy with my current place, but who knows how long I'll be there.
I am 40 and I have lived in seven places. The house I grew up in, two apartments in my twenties, with my in-laws twice in between moves, and in two houses, one being our current house. Clearly I am not much of a mover. I told hubby I don't ever want to move again and I plan to die in this house. Lol.
You basically have to be a gypsy these days chasing work wherever it is available. I'm 32. I've lived in more places than my 83 year old grandmother has, and most of that has been purely for employment related reasons
I have not moved for employment, except once. I also changed my employment due to a move. (The 2800 mile commute got to be too much).
my one house is my slice of heaven on the water its peaceful I see eagles loons, and deer on the other side of the house..
I feel rooted here..ive declined job offers because I don't want to move..
Our current house is like that, except it is way too big for us now.
Also we do not see loons, Eagles, swans, geese, hawks, raccoons, deer, herons, foxes, mink, rabbits, coyotes, egrets and a-hole woodpeckers, but no loons.
When we lived in Southern California we saw lots of loons from our windows, but we lives int he city and that is a different kind of loon I think.
I wasn’t sure if we’re talking also rental places but I’ll assume so?
Apparently one house until I was 3. No memories of it.
Then same 8,000 square foot house until I was 14.
Then 20,000 square foot house until I went to college, where I had a room in a house (small).
Transferred colleges where I had a room in a quad about 180 square feet, whew. Then an apartment of about 550 square feet. Both were back and forth between “home” and my apartment. So that’s 3 places during college besides “home.”
Then lived at home 22-24 (mom was dying of cancer, so I didn’t leave as planned)
Los Angeles for 4+ years same 920 square foot studio.
Long Beach for a few months, owned, then rented it out when I left town.
Two different apartments, same complex, total of 9 months.
Town home for 20 months.
Downtown condo for 2 years.
House for 3 years and still living there, moving hopefully within 12-18 months max.
So 13 total places then in my 36 years? Not so bad but between 28 and 36 it was a lot of moving...
I remember four. There is at least one more, pre-memory. The first home I remember is a basic Cape Cod with a leaky basement. After rain we put our boots on and pushed water down the drain. There was a shed that was a garage when there was an alley in previous decades. Sometime after we moved, the shed was removed instead of getting a new door. The upstairs was half unlit attic and half narrow bedroom. Next we lived in a suburban townhouse, which combined the worst of everything: apartment living farther out in the suburbs.

I know where I'll be living there are coyotes, deer, and raccoons. What I'm afraid of is I'll also be seeing cougars and bears. I'll trade for the loons. LOL
