We both grew up in s/f houses but love living in a townhouse. Neither one of us want the hassle of mowing the lawn and all the other fun stuff that comes along with owning a house. But the funny thing is, I have become real interested in the garden we have and cant stop playing around out there.
Good for you. I live in the single residency ranch and have a garden too. We grow garlic, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, cabage, zuccini, etc.
We love the home grown garden. We were doing it back in Europe, too.
Some people who live in condos and townhouses have country property-"get away" home where they enjoy the quiet living on weekends. It's hard to get a good job in the country environment.
Many people in the Buffalo-Niagara area where I live have lake cottages, hunting cabins, or just trailers in the country, only 1 hour fom the city.
The location here is tremendous. We have varieties and can make our choice. It's great.
