We've painted the laundry room and man cave, and last weekend we hand built these new railings that go around our stairs.

I have started splitting some logs to see if I could do it with a maul, just for fun. It worked, so I have been splitting 6-10 logs each day for exercise with the added benefit of getting rid of the giant log pile in the back yard.

I was going to paint a part of the house where we get really bad carpenter bee infestations each year. A pest specialist told me carpenter bees hate fresh paint. However our governor in her infinite wisdom decided paint and pants (and motorboats) cause corona virus, but only if you buy them at a large store while you are at the store anyway to get other things. She thinks it is safer to only allow paint to be bought when you make a special added trip to smaller stores. Alas so far the smaller stores do not carry the pain that I need (Shellac based outdoor primer/paint). I keep trying to remember to run in to Ace hardware and see if they have it, but I am usually working when they are open. So that project kind of died.

I am also working on getting the chlorine generator for our swimming pool working properly. However the non-stop cold and snow has eliminated motivation as well as making it unpleasant.

I guess I will just try to work on cars instead.

I finally got new steps built at the side door to my kitchen extension. The painter finished all of the house except the kitchen extension and the back porch, which also needs new T&G flooring right at the back door. Last week I got a second sump pump for the basement. Yesterday I got a separate circuit for that, plus a new outside light installed at the bottom of the basement stairs and a pretty new outdoor ceiling fan in my glass-enclosed front porch. Now the storm door doesn't hit the fan blades - yay! Next weekend I'm going to have my yard helpers come out and till a new garden bed for veggies and more flowers, and clean the maple winged seeds out of the garage gutter guards (I still have the mesh guards there).

We just closed on a house two weeks ago. With me working from home, I don't have the hr long commute to work. I've been patching holes and painting. Is it just me or is painting just tedious work? It takes me so long to do the cutting in. I don't use tape. I can cut in around the ceiling pretty quick but cutting in around the base board takes me forever.

Anyway, I've fixed the dishwasher airgap line, replaced a vent fan, and replaced fans. I still have a little painting to do and replace both garage door motors.

I have done some interior painting with more to do, getting yard ready for spring, and planting some flowers that will probably die, lol.

We are thinking more bigger projects: new carpet throughout house, paint garage, fix garage floor and then epoxy the floor, possible trees in backyard along fence, getting trim outside painted and/or replaced and painted, starting to finish the basement one phase at a time...

Thankfully, we started a DIY remodeling project around the first of the year. Also hubby's pt job has continued a few mornings a week during the pandemic. Between the two things, he has kept very busy.

As for me, I’m happy when I have no place to go. I can putter around my house and garden all day, knit, read or watch HGTV, and I’m happy.

If I get stir crazy, I go grocery shopping. I am eager to get into the stores again, since i need some furniture and accessories for the remodel.

Hah! You're not slow at all - my last tv purchase I upgraded my two 13 in. televisions to 19 in ones. Woo hoo - big screens, lol. I'm totally behind the curve.
