The house will have a sprinkler system and/or foundation watering system- so why would you need more hose bibs than the standard frt/back?

I wash my car - I need one on the side.

I water my potted plants - I need one on the front.

I water my potted plants out back, I need one in the back. And I wash the lawn mower off in the back as well.

And then the pressure washer....

I have 4 hose bibs - 2 on city and 2 on well. That works very well for me.

Thanks! We get 2 hose bibs and both run thru the city water line only in north texas. I usually use hose pipe as an extension if I need to get something done away from the line for things you mentioned above.

Consider an in wall toilet system where the cistern is mounted on the wall. Makes it so much easier to clean the bathroom floor.

I don't understand "run thru the city water line only in north texas" - but if OP is having a new house built the cost of adding more hose bibbs at the construction stage is trivial. Adding them later is a big pain and you'll probably never do it. I'd rather pay once for a bit more pipe and a valve, than haul extra hose around for the next 20 years.

As to what not to upgrade through the builder, I would not upgrade the kitchen faucet. I would keep the base kitchen faucet and buy any one I want of my own. I like the U by Moen Smart faucet.

Ceiling speakers (not just the wiring) in all the rooms you care about.

Built ten years ago. The kitchen->dining area->living room is essentially one long room across the back half of the main floor, with a small office in part of the front half of the main floor. A requirement (by me) was to have ceiling speakers in the kitchen long before we picked our floorplan, so ended up with a set in the kitchen space (over the island) and a set in the living room (over where a sofa would go, facing the wall upon which the TV is mounted). Plus a set in the office. And wiring to the back of the house for outdoor speakers facing the patio.

The kitchen speakers are used daily, listening to the radio or music as we make coffee in the morning, while cooking, etc. Add in the living room speakers when eating or playing games in the dining area. Use the living room speakers for sound for movies, sports, etc.

It was a great decision for us.

If you can, look into sound insulation on the backside of the speakers if there is a floor above the ceiling where you place them - wish I had. Still, one of the best we did. Seriously, for us, the kitchen speakers are podded up for some amount of time at least once daily if we are home.

I do building maintenance for a hospital that uses such toilets. I would NEVER get one for the home. When the seal at the wall starts leaking it’s a pain to repair the leak. Floor mounted toilets can handle higher weight and are easier to replace the seal when it should start leaking. At the hospital we’ve had to install support brackets to these wall mounted toilets.

If I did not have a well, and was not getting one, I would want more than just 2 hose bibs. As the other poster mentioned, dragging a hose around will get tiresome.
