Can someone give me the name of this component? I have a side door with 2 wooden framed screens that have 4 of these hooks. the hooks have matching hooks but inversed and hold the wooden framed screens onto the door. They have become brittle and broken. I don't know what they are called. Thanks.

Maybe the word coupling is better than hook. But on the wooden framed screen the parts are installed up-side-down and hang on the door frame like this.

It must be a specific catch used by the manufacturer of the the door unit.

Is there a label on the unit or edge of the door that would indicate the name of the manufacturer?

Looks like it might possibly be half of a "screen door latch". Hard to tell with that photo.

Thank you, it is a "french cleat". Now I am googling but unable to find the same part or a french cleat small enough to replace them.

A french cleat is usually something you'd fabricate in order to solve a particular issue, not something from "off the shelf".

I lived in a house built back in the 1930s that used a similar system to hold in the screens or storm windows in the 'sun porch' except ours were hand made out of local wood (most of the lumber in the house including the oak beams and pine floors came from trees on the family farm. I think they took a long French Cleat and sliced it into 3/4" thick pieces. These look like someone took the idea and 'productized' and mass produced them in plastic.

I reckon you'll just have to make the replacement parts. Maybe aluminum.
