I have a very large (custom) down comforter and cover. I use the ties in each of the four corners, and those work, but the comforter tends to ride inward in the center. My first thought was a bobby pin, but then thought it would not be a good idea to puncture a down comforter.
I contacted the comforter manu (who said def do not use the bobby pins!), and they suggested these:
I use flat, round refrigerator magnets from Staples or Target for my nice duvet cover, but they have been known to pop off, so you may want to look for something stronger (Lowe's, Home Depot).
There was a time, before the duvet cover, when I had 6 layers (1 flat sheet + 5 thin-ish cotton blankets) clipped together with binder clips. That worked exceptionally well.
How would you secure the magnets to the cover and comforter?
I don't secure them, because you don't want them going in the washer/dryer. One magnet on top, one on the bottom -- should be strong enough to hold what's inside in place unless it's very, very thick. You may have to use more than 1 in each corner, though.

Thanks. The corners are already secured. It's the middle that is the issue.

One more reason I switched to comforters and gave up on duvets.
