This is how it's wired in my backyard. I have a switch inside my house that turns on the porch light. When the motion sensor trips the flood light, the flood light turns on. Then after a few seconds the porch light dims. Then when I trip the motion sensor again (I can see a little red dot go off in the motion sensor), the porch light gets brighter again. Anybody know if this is due to the way it's wired (possibly in series?)?

Lighting wiring is straightforward- hot, neutral, ground.
What you’re experiencing is a power draw of the flood lights from the porch light- and whatever else is on that circuit.

Nothing really to worry about- but you may want to consider LED bulbs for both fixtures.

Both lights are LED. I think that may be the problem since I've noticed LED are super sensitive to the smallest change in electrical current. I bought a CFL bulb for the porch light to see if that may fix the problem.

Yep, the circuitry in the LED that is dimming is the problem (unless the circuit is on a dimmer). I have an LED shop light that has a fit whenever I use a clothes iron, and my GF has a chandelier using LEDs that will strobe unless one of the lights in the circuit is an incandescent. Not sure if the use of a CFL will fix it, a LED porch light rated for use with dimmers MAY fix it, an incandescent will be fine.
