This should not be allowed to sit. Missing tiles will allow for water penetration under the rest of the roof. If you are expecting rain, you should tarp over the damaged area.

Yes, check with neighbors to see if they have recommendations (who to hire, but also who to avoid - the roofing industry is a sketchy industry everywhere) and if they have similar issues after the storm.

Your home owners insurance agent may also have recommendations for local, trusted roofers.

Get multiple bids. Sign NO AGREEMENTS.

You want matching shingles and roofers can get those or know if they are no longer available (roofers will also know where they might be available to him/her but not available to the public). If you live in an HOA, it may require a match for repairs. Plus, mismatched shingles is a baaaaad look.

The roofers can also check for other damage that you may not be aware (remember that whatever a roofer says, the insurance adjuster has final say whether it is damage that the insurer will pay to repair/replace).

Something like my home's roof is not something I would try myself - too much can go wrong if I mess it up.

Sorry not squares, bundles. I don't know the terminology as well as I think I do. But the points about finding someone to do this small job, and about getting up there and doing your best with the material on hand, still hold.

It's urgent to repair it. I would check with my insurance company first. Do you know how good your roof was before the windstorm? If you think you can tackle it watch a few u-tube videos on it.
