I want to give my daughter the silver baby cup that my sister had made for her, long ago. I keep forgetting because it’s all tarnished & I want to shine it up for her, but I don’t own silver, therefore no longer have silver polish.
Are there any common household products that will polish sterling silver?

For some items, polishing and cleaning is more critical, such as native American jewelry. Cleaning outside of accepted ways can damage and lower value.
If it's sterling silver, Bar Keepers Friend, $2.72 for 26oz at Walmart. It cleans everything, not just silver, so you're not stuck with a tin of silver cleaner you might not use again for a long time, if ever.
