Looks like BS to me as well. If it is so waterproof, how you going to wash that garment again would be my question? And what about in the summer, is it so waterproof the fabric doesn't breath and you sweat like a pig?
Maybe, maybe not. They've been selling stain resistant pants for some time now(My wife bought me a couple of pairs awhile back) and while I'm not familiar with the process, it's likely a chemical solution they add to the material. It might not be out of the question that they've created an "aftermarket" solution.
I noticed they don't claim it's a "for the life of your garment" treatment, stating it will last for 3-5 washes. They don't mention how many loads it will treat so it could be one of those deals where it works, but if you like it you have to reorder it on a fairly regular basis.
Say it's 2 oz per treatment. That's four loads in one 8 oz bottle and if you like it, you need to order more a month or two later, depending on how many times you wash clothes for your family. If it's 4 oz, that's two loads.
The other side to it is if it's really necessary or not. If you've got smaller kids that are prone to spilling things or getting grass stains on their clothes, maybe it's worth it. The only real way to find out is to try it though.
