I think what your trying to describe with too many words is called "junk fees". Yes they did get out of conrrol. People just dont seem to question any of them. When your excited about getting your new home you just keep on signing everything they throw in front of you. You know if you say no to a junk fee then the whole deal is off so the mortgage companies just tack them on.

I am repeating from previous posts,Just had closing.As FSBO seller my costs minimal,if buyer had cash his cost would have been $20,instead mortgage.His costs $10,000.Example property has 4 concrete post's and yet had to pay $450 for survey,sit HIGH and dry had to pay for flood check,ridiculous.I had real estate agent for many years in Denver and when purchasing would always ask what are rip off fee's????I would set figure with him.
