I tried searching the C-D site for ideas on home organization, but I came up with all kinds of things! It was too broad. So I'm asking your help. If you can lead me to any threads about keeping your home organized or to any websites that you've found to be helpful I'd sure appreciate it. I do pretty good with all my closets, kitchen cupboards, bathroom stuff, linen closet, etc. My biggest problem comes with paper! But I'd still like to hear about any and all organizational idea you may have. Thanks in advance for all your help!

check out the hgtv website for some tips. also, today on oprah she had that clutter guy and nate. they did some neat redecorating for almost nothing. they involved neighbors and swapped items, sorted through closets, etc. they bought most of their stuff at target.

I have a problem with paper... mail mainly. First, I went paperless on all my monthly bills. Utilities, satellite, cell phone, yada yada yada, and arranged automatic payments from my bank account.

Second, when I get the junk mail, I immediately sort through it, and toss the trash right then and there. The supermarket circulars are placed on my desk until after dinner so I can go through them, make my grocery list, then they're tossed. Save any bills until bill-paying day and immediately file the statement.

I don't subscribe to any newspapers anymore. I'll read them online. Besides, the delivery was sporadic at best. I wish kids were delivering the newspaper these days.

Any ads from local businesses with coupons that I will ACTUALLY use, I'll save long enough to cut out the coupon and throw out the rest. I have a little basket on my desk for the coupons and I go through them weekly to see what I can use that week.

Any receipts for charitable donations/expenses go immediately into my tax folder so I have nothing to search for at tax time and nothing sitting around to be put away.

I find the thing about the paper mess is you need to discipline yourself to keep on top of it. Best investment I made was my paper shredder, file cabinet, and file folders.
