Looking to install some doors in our basement which we are finishing.
When it comes to the doors, is there a preference between split and flat jamb?
Is one easier to install than the other?

I don't have a mitre saw so should I go with a split jamb or buy a mitre and go with a flat jamb?

thanks all

As far as the jamb itself- flat is stronger when compared to the split. But it's harder (and more time consuming) to install, especially for a DIY'er.

So,unless you have a real need for the saw in the future- go with the split.
