OK folks, question is "would you leave Houston, and why or why not"?

What I am looking for is legitimate reasons on what would make you leave Houston. Crime, traffic, weather, pollution,. etc.

If you want to leave, leave and take your negative attitudes with you. I can't think of a single reason that would keep me somewhere I didn't want to be.

Hey smartass, I didn't say I wanted to leave......I am simply curious on what the thoughts of those that want to leave are.

NO. Houston is home. I will always live here for family, friends and for the lack of income/intangible tax. Houston has been very good to me and my family, allowing me to afford the lifestyle I want. So, while I will never "leave," I'm sure as heck going to be spending my summers somewhere cool. thank you Texas.

If I won the lottery, I think I would move to a caribbean island....or Hawaii. It would also be nice to live somewhere where there were four seasons and none of them were harsh......maybe Tennessee?

I couldn't leave even if I wanted to.

Having just graduated from college, NO. Houston is VERY economically friendly, esp. job-wise & cost of living. Where am I gonna go? Back to Oklahoma HAIL NO.

If I could leave & I was filthy rich, maybe I'd move to Washington, D.C. or Toronto. But as of now, I'm staying put.

We just got here a few months ago from Tennessee...

Florida native, lived in Tennessee and Louisiana. Would possibly go back to Tennessee if the economy healed up but Texas is better then Florida and Louisiana hands down and to be honest, I love Nashville but when compared to Houston it's boring... I'd rather put up with a harsh summer then be bored most of the year. BTW, Tennessee still gets pretty damn cold in the winter even if theres not much snowfall...

I thought about this a lot last year when I was unemployed.

Cali has better weather and is more liberal. Aside from that, it costs 4 times as much to live there and has worse traffic. Plus, those of us who are actually middle-of-the-road get as tired of the left there as we do of the right here in Texas.

Florida has the same weather, has less cultural diversity, and the arts offerings are not as good.

NYC is great, and if I were 30 years younger, I'd do it again. But I'm not and I won't.

There is no civilization west of the Hudson, north of the Mason-Dixon, and west of the Sierras, with the exceptions of St. Louis, Chicago, and Denver. It snows too much in all three of those places.

Dallas is too snooty. San Antonio is not enough of anything (except mexican food). Austin is too snotty.

Which leaves Houston. Process of elimination.

Seriously, when I go all the way around looking at other places to live, I keep winding up with Houston.
