Hello Houston. I haven't seen this question posed in a forum and since I am having suce a hard time deciding between the two cities, I wondered which city is better overall for jobs.

In my research I have noticed that Dallas has more temporary agencies then Houston so I would think that would give some indicator to the overall job market in the two cities but I can be wrong.

So for myself who has been an Administrative Assistant for the last ten years. I also will have a two year degree in about 3 month. And for my husband who is a cable technician and also has done work in general laborer, warehouse kind of work which city would be beter for us?

Thanks Houston for your feedback. It is greatly appreciated.

Dallas. Those aren't high skill level positions and we have 'our neighbors to the South' coming here and taking all the labor jobs they can find on the cheap.

Thanks for your feedback. I went to the forum but that was just answering questions in general about which was better. I am now trying to decide based on job potential.

Administrative Assistant jobs are common .... you can always look in the Chronicle's classifieds. Houston news, entertainment, search and shopping | chron.com - Houston Chronicle

Dallas has the more diverse economy, so finding a job in many different sectors is in Dallas's favor, but Houston has a larger sector than Dallas in what it specializes in, so it gives a larger employment opportunity depending on your sector/field of work.

I'd try searching before you got to either place and see where you have more luck.

Best thing for you to do is make one thread and ask all of your questions in that one thread.

Best way to look at job listings is to do the careerbuilder/monster thing, look on craigslist, and/or check out the Chronicle at chron.com or the Dallas Morning News at Dallasnews.com.

Check the classifides.
