Dallas apparently is getting locations soon.
In-N-Out Burger Heads To Dallas, Texas
And they are building a new meat processing facility in Texas which leads me to believe that they will need locations to sell that meat at.
There burgers and fries are awesome! I also love Hardee's/Carl's Jr.

We're hoping so!!

Here's a previous discussion on the likelihood of In 'n' Out coming our way in the near future:

According to the article I linked to below, no, they will only build in Dallas for the foreseeable future. That is according to Carl Van Fleet, executive of planning and development for In-N-Out. The following is from the article in the OC Register:
5:30 p.m. update: Will Texans see In-N-Out expanding to other big cities like San Antonio? No, says Van Fleet: “We really aren’t considering anything outside the Dallas/Ft. Worth market at this time. That market is plenty big and we don’t plan to change our rate of growth.”

Now, I don't believe this will be true forever. With a distribution center in Dallas it is VERY possible that later on In-N-Out will expand throughout Texas. However, growing up with In-N-Out, I know how strict they are, especially when it comes to their expansion. It was a shock back in the day when they decided to expand beyond SoCal and just into other parts of California! Time will tell.

My Advice: Once In-N-Out opens their operations here in Dallas, you Houstonians need to make some noise in order to get In-N-Out's attention. Same goes for Austin and San Antonio. That is what San Diego, San Fransisco and Sacramento had to do in order to get In-N-Out beyond the Los Angeles area.

Being how times are different, I believe they will expand sooner than later (this isn't the 60s or 70s). I've heard that they are already scouting locations in the Austin area. The Garland location is only the first approved location, too, by the way. I actually called them two months ago and the lady on the phone said the Dallas area will be first, but they'll look at other locations throughout Texas once the DFW area gets a few stores.

on one hand, i don't want them out here in Texas, because when i go back to visit California, to see my parents or siblings, I like to go get me a double-double and fries.
if it's out here, then it will sort of diminish the nostalgia, lol.

on other hand, bring it on!

And that standard "we aren't considering anything... " blah-blah-blah... I heard same thing from Cracker Barrel when I asked them if they were building one in Kingwood, and look now there's one in Kingwood.

In-n-Out is still a family corporation and as you can see by the menu, they sure don't bow down to the whims of the market, but hey, they came as far as Dallas, what's another couple hundred miles?

LOL. Yeah, I would have to say that after some thought I would say screw the nostalgia and build one in my backyard!

I lived in Southern California for four years and I only at an In N Out like four times. The long lines just really didn't make it worth it for me. The quality is good, yeah, but definitely not worth it for those obnoxious lines.

Preferred Carl's Jr actually. But that is greasy stuff.

But when I want a drive-thru burger, I find I still prefer that Whataburger taste. It isn't quite as greasy and I like the beds of lettuce and big tomatoes to go with that mustard tanginess. Just my taste.

Beck's Prime, Miller's Cafe, 59 Diner, Texas Hamburger Palace...it's not like Houston is inferior to Cali for burgs.

Should In N Out make its way here someday, it'll be interesting to see how it holds up here. I know the ex-Cali folks will be happy.

Lankford Grocery easily dominates In N Out.
