A few of my buddies are looking to go to Galveston for a bachelor part in late August. Anybody have any suggestions of places to stay? I think we'd prefer something with a kitchen.

Not so sure I would have advertised the bachelor party part... now some who have properties are probably skipping this one.

Depends on your budget...

SeaScape is budget-friendly and right on the beach. But the rooms aren't very large.

If you want larger, newer and fancier, you might look into Pointe West or one of the new highrises. If he has a large budget and is expecting a large group, I think you can get home rentals now in the Beachtown development directly on the beach. Of course you can also get much cheaper home rentals in older places that aren't right on the beach.

The West end used to have many nice large (sleep 10+) beach houses. But I haven't been there since Ike so they may have washed away.

As having never stayed in Galveston before, what part should we be looking to stay? What is there to do on the Westside because that seems to be where all the rentals are?
