There is nothing inherent about the races that make them 'dislike' each other... it's all cultural. In LA, they grow up being taught to hate the others. That isn't the case in Houston.

Default Turf

Though there are areas with high concentrations of Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, etc., the mentality of "turf" does not come with it to the extent it does in other cities. in LA for example, an Hispanic walking through a Black turf area would get him severly beaten, or shot. That does not happen in Houston.

It's a good thing to see latinos and blacks living together peacefully
I never understood the hatred between them in LA..This city is racially diverse and tolerant in a very tolerant state, they shouldn't have problems.

Houston for the most part is a very diverse city - and most people seem to get along with each other quite well and race isn't a big issue -- it really never has been unless you go way, way back in time before most of us were even around.

True. Sort of makes you wonder what the possibilities would be if all religions/races weren't taught to hate - wherever.

The mentality and the diversity of Houston is quite different. Every race in Houston is doing good lifestyle wise, so there really isn't a reason for one race to be in a war with of jealous of another race.
