Topaz-Are you kidding me? What suburbs are you describing? Certainly not the major suburbs surrounding Houston.
LOL... No, I am not kidding you. Topaz, I also attended UCLA - Montgomery county where The Woodlands is located is the third most conservative county in the entire U.S. and Fort Bend county where Sugar Land and Cinco Ranch are both located is also in the top 100 most conservative counties in the United States - Also Cypress, Kingwood, Friendswood founded by the Quakers are very nice "BURBS' but are very conservative compared to living inside the Loop and other places throughout the U.S.

There are currently 3143 counties in the United States.

This article says about Sugar Land: "The most politically relevant fact about Fort Bend County is that in 1984, a former exterminator named Tom DeLay was elected to the House of Representatives here."

1984 was 27 years ago.

In the last Presidential election, 40% of my Sugar Land precinct voted for President Obama.

By the criteria listed in this article, I would be considered "conservative-friendly." And while I am friendly toward conservatives, I don't think most of them would accept me as one of their own. There is more political diversity here than people realize.

Yee-haw I just got in from rounding up the cattle and slingin' up my six-shooters. Mind if I get in on the fun?

It sure is rough living in such a backwards state like Texas (sarcasm alert!)

cheryjohns-Guess he's talking about mine. I would protest - but I have got to get down to Walmart in my pick-up truck to get some chewing tobacco before I go to bed - I took too long cleaning all my guns.

So, are you saying this young lady in Walmart is representive of L.A.?
I have been in the lovely state of California many, many, many times and would not dream of thinking so. But, then, I would expect it a shame if that were not a two-way street.

Unfortunately, the only strap working on this entire outfit is the one holding that hideous hair in place. Is that former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker's wife or is that Paul Volcker?

Yikes! You know your economy is hurting when Oregon is predicted to recover faster from the recession than you.
