The 2900 - 3000 block of Main has certainly changed for the better from what it was like 20 years ago.

Well, you know, supposedly the rail killed everything on Main.

It's still got a lot of room to improve and there are a lot of abandoned/empty lots still, but yes. Much of Midtown was a dump 20 years ago. Wish more transit-oriented development would take off there. The only true TOD that's come up around the rail line is Main Street Square downtown and it hasn't even come close to reaching its potential.

Yah, I wish there could be a new structure placed at the corner of Main and McGowen to cover up that large blank space. There is some neat stuff going on there at that axis on down to the HCC Ensemble Station block.

Where did you go to take the photo of the Chase building? I guess you must have been on the top of another building. I didn't know that was an option downtown.

Sort of. I was in the sky lobby of the Chase Tower, not to be confused with the older Chase (Gulf) Building. It is the tallest one; you go in, there are six elevators (three on each side) and they all go direct to the 60th floor. That's where I was.

I think more apartments are supposed to go in the superblock.

I'd like to see something mixed-use there, like what One Park Place will be when Phoenicia opens. Having a grocery store there is almost as good as having one downtown, because people who live downtown can take the rail and get on/off right there at McGowen.
