I couldn't believe how chilly it was out this morning! It's cooler here right now than it is up in the NY area.

Before anyone gives ME grief about what "cold" is - I grew up in the northeast, lived through 2 Buffalo winters and spent 15 winters traveling across Canada, the Rocky Mountain states, northeast & midwest so I do know what real cold is.

I personally don't like super cold temps. This is cold enough for me and the snow can stay away except to dump some fun for the kids & photo ops for a day or so.

Does this bode for another unseasonably cold winter? Has there been a predictable weather pattern here? We've been here for 2 winters now and they were both relatively chilly for what I expected out of Houston. Just wondering if we'll trend towards a warmer winter or have yet another *cold* winter.

I am prepared to evacuate if we should go to prolonged freezing temps. I have the brandy packed already.

It will be 80 next week...which is typical for Houston winters.Fronts not constant cooler temps. Last year was a very rare, and highly welcome winter in my book.

While the kids were growing up, I never knew in advance if they were going to have to wear coats over their costumes on Halloween - or if it was going to be shorts weather and I had to ensure the costume wouldn't be too hot.
