Yeah DC-Balt would be pushed to number 4 if the definitions stay the same, but it would not hold the position for more than 6 or 7 years. DFW will pass it again

Likely true but I think it would take longer than 6 or 7 years. DC/Bmore CSA is already well over 8 million to begin with. Not to mention that surprisingly , DC is growing at a pretty good clip. Though not nearly like DFW, Houston, or Atlanta.

lmao...A&M man I feel like your going to make a plan to blow up Atlanta. You really really HATE Atlanta. Lol, just joking man JUST JOSHING. But damn those numbers don't lie. It really feels like Houston population is catching speed and I mean speed. I've noticed the change since I moved here in 08.

sorry if I didn't explain better. If they don't screw up anything and convert the CSA to the MSA then it would take more time, yes. BALTIMORE Metro is close to 3M people. so combining the two as is would give you more than 8.5M

it is hard imagine Baltimore as the Oakland to SF or FW to Dallas, because unlike those Baltimore is larger than DC.

it would be more like Minneapolis- Saint Paul because those two cities are closer in population on the city level

Dannyy, when does the actual census report and update get released? You seem to be in the know.

Summer next year. June I believe.

But every couple of months they release tidbits

But by June you will see that Houston

remains the 4th Largest city in the US
Became the 5th largest metro moving ahead of Philly
UA increased from about 3.8M to about 5.2M

Thanks Htownlove. When will Houston get off of it's backside and annex something major and become the 3rd largest city in the U.S. and become an even larger metro area?

If it consolidates with the county it definately will. Harris County has over 4M people (almost a million of which are freebies -not associated with other formal cities).

Chicago is 500K ahead. annexing the Katy area alone will give us half that number.

But Houston has given up the annexing game for now.

we have more land already than we know what to do with.

who knows, the census might show an undercount and we might have 300K people hiding somewhere who were not on the estimates.

I say the bigger the better. The whole county should be annexed into the Houston City Limits. I know I have posted that before, but it is what I believe.
