since we are talking about babies, can you ladies suggest any good ob/gyn and pediatricians in the area. we may be living close to medical schools or near rice.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Catherine Holste. She's out of Women's and her office is in the One Fannin building. I recommended a friend to go to her, and she loves her too.
My other best friend goes to another Dr. in the same practice, and really likes her (and Dr. Holste delivered her baby as well by happen-chance).
Another friend of mine is a pharmacutical rep and does a lot of business in this office, and he said that all the doctors in this practice are great, and easy to work with. He likes them all.

My wife loves her ob/gyn, Dr. Ferdinand Plavidal, he's the head of obstetrics at Womens. Our Pediatrician is great, Dr. Arnold Kagan, but he is down in Pearland.
