Hello everyone !

We're moving to Houston this June and wanted to get advice on the "best/safe" neighborhood to live with kids (10 and 11 y/o), excellent middle and high school district and close to the medical center. We're looking to spend no more than $1500 in rent.

I read about West U, nice area but seems like the apt/condo reviews were horrible. Medical center would be ideal but schools in the area doesn't seem that great and a lot of burglary.

Thanks to all that reply. Greatly appreciate you taking the time.

South of Braeswood between Main and the railroad tracks has some still affordable houses to rent. There are also some older, but still nice looking condo and apt. complexes. Outside of that, Meyerland might be an option. Its just south of Bellaire outside the loop. I think the schools its zoned to might be OK.

near med center you would want to be zoned to Roberts Elem and then apply to get in Pin Oak or Lanier MS vanguard.
Other than that try Pearland
