Sorry. I just remember that you brought one of the best characters in City-Data history to the scene. As far as what will my wife and kids do at the rodeo, I can tell you that they will attend the carnival and watch some of the rodeo exhibitions waiting for their concerts that they are attending to start showing.

We always go to the BBQ Cookoff; that's this Thur/Fri/Sat. We usually go to the rodeo for a day, but just to see everything BUT the actual rodeo. We'll walk around the grounds (we always wait for a pretty day), watch sheep races, eat too much, drink too much, go thru the fat stock show, get dizzy just watching carnival rides, eat more (mmm, corn on the cob!), drink more, then stumble back to the rail line to go home around the time everyone is pouring into the rodeo.

Yes, it's the one time a year we ride the rail. Park at the Museum parking garage, rail back & forth.

It's always fun. If you haven't been in a while, go! It's not expensive to just attend w/o the rodeo.

Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun! I am really excited to go this year. I would like to actually see some of the livestock shows this time. I remember I had quite a few friends in 4-h when I was younger and it seemed like a lot of fun. It just so much to do I am having a hard time narrowing it down. As for as the food...I dont drink alchohol so I am not into the wine auctions...but I can't for that good ole Texas BBQ!!! BBQ cookoff sounds good!

Can the public now actually get any BBQ at the BBQ cook-off? I remember going a few years ago, and since we weren't competing, they wouldn't allow us in or to even buy a plate (or two!) of BBQ. It was just for the competitors only.
