We moved in our newly built house in Riverstone Sugarland in Feb 2010 so just about now we got our property taxes letter. Not like we were surprised but they're trying to increase the property taxes by almost 30% and lots of that is going to the property / lot.

This is a brand new gated neighborhood, 50 houses in total with big premium lots so there is no old or current real estate data that I can use to protest the taxes increase. In my old house I knew what I had to do since there was enough data to pull from the previous year sales and all that, but what do I do i a new neighborhood.

Any advice is greatly appreciated........

Not enough info. Did they have it at lot value only until last year and then increase by only 30% (which would be great). Or did they increase it from what you paid by 30%? You can DM me - but let me know what you paid - what they had it at last year - and what they raised it to.
