Needed a new circuit board every other time i punched self clean. I cook a lot for crowds. Rarely use the bottom oven, but when you need it, you need it. Great place for storing large skillets.

That is exactly what I say.

Gas cooktop, electric convection oven. A gas oven shuts off when the set temperature is reached, and turns on when the temperature drops, therefore the temperature may be uneven in a gas oven. This isn't critical unless you like to bake.

Standard electric ovens tend to have hot and cold spots, but a convection oven adds a fan which circulates the heat.

I love gas stovetop and gas oven - hate electric - no particular reason other than personal preference.

like your answer. I'm buying a home w/gas hookups. Dad had a gas setup. But is that good to go now?

I have a gas oven and LOVE it. I have had more even results than with any of the electrics I have used over the years.

Electric convection ovens cook things faster, so all your recipes become guesswork. I had an electric convection oven - I thought it would be cool because I cook and bake a lot - and it screwed up my baking times! Sure, everything came out more evenly cooked - but it was a pain in the ___ to recalibrate all of my baking times!

Gas for sure! I had never had a gas stove until recently and cooking with it vs. electric has made me realize that I will never use an electric stove again. There are some really nice modern gas stoves out there!
