All the posts I read on the webster/clearlake area seem like they want to keep the MYTHS about the suburbs surrounding houston. In the Clear Creek ISD there is so much prejudice coming from the children and it seems to worsen year after year. I have lived in Houston for a very long time and all the mexican and african american children I have spoken with have all experienced hateful situations/words from caucasian children and some teachers allow it in their classrooms and they at times join in. I currently work in the school district and have worked in sping isd, klein isd, pasdena isd, friendswood isd and many others in the time I have lived here and racism is everywhere! Many parents here in Houston have children who have been victims of hate and were scared the situation may worsen if they spoke up but have come to a point where their childrens education is at stake. It is bad that parents instill hate in their children from so young that by the time they reach high school there is so much damage done it almost seems irreversible. My question is why isn't any of this mentioned so that when a newcomer inquires about the schools they know what they are getting their children into? And do not come here to Houston expecting programs in the school to help your child you must be a very persistent/demanding parent to get any help for any child.

I relocated from NJ to Houston almost 3 years ago and I consider school district and commute time for work. I wasnt impress with the beaches if you compare to east coast but it serves its purpose. I bought a property at Houston with a school just outside the community... which serves my purpose. Commute is a big factor here in Houston since everything is driving distance. I would suggest that you consider that with your search. Good luck with your search!
