Er, I guess they're not Christmas lights then. The same thing is done in the upscale shopping area where the Central Market HEB store is located (River Oaks).

its probably very little investment for downtown businesses to run a single string of lights over the streets, and probably huge returns from additional patrons celebrating the cooler holiday season in the city. its just too bad houston is just 'all-business'

I think I'll try and take my friend up on his offer of quail hunting this year.
The one on Westheimer?

Are you on crack? It's the beginning of November. I would think it'd raise more eyebrows if lights WERE up. Christians, indeed.

You do realize that the tradition was that the decorations went up the night before xmas, right? I think the day after Thanksgiving is sufficient.

the houston skyline used to do christmas lights. one of them (can't remember) put up green and red lights in the shape of a christmas tree. i don't recall seeing anyone do that in a long time. think there were some others as well.

Highland Village (River Oaks strip mall) always has their stuff up way ahead of time but they always have lights. Neiman's and stores in the galleria are decked out as well. not fully but they have their stuff up

I may be on crack but you seem to be just waking up and coming out of the barn. its the diwali thing that comes after halloween aka the festival of ___?
Look, nobody cares about the original thanksgiving massacre mmkay? whats important is to get the ball rolling. make people lighten up and spend a little on themselves or others. wear your best clothes. you know all that stuff
I dont care anymore. I'll light up my net lights tomorrow (i left them on my jasmine climbing some trellis to act as my sunshade for my westward windows).
