Oh really? Any chance you could send me a link? I've only seemed to be able to find 3-beds upwards of $1900, but $1275 would be perfect. I guess when we move (we'll probably do a corporate lease for a month so that we can house hunt) we can give all these areas to a realtor as a place to start.

Oak Forest comes to mind before Garden Oaks, which tends to be more expensive. Look at www.HAR.com

Plug in Oak Forest or zip 77018 for rentals.

I would stay on the North side of downtown just to avoid a little traffic. But if you don't find anything in your budget look in 77023 in Eastwood and Idylwood.
Add 77009 near the Heights in Brookesmith or Lindale Park. Both will be right by 45N and within 10 minutes from all the interests you like.

Like Cheryl said, Har.com will be your best bet.

Thanks everyone! Feel I have a good place to start now.

If we can't find what we want in our budget, are there any northern suburbs that have a nice, older, established feel with bungalows and/or ranches, etc?

So glad I happened on this forum. Really great advice.
