There are plans of adding hotels to each corner of the Convention center connected by skywalk. City officials are also planning a 17 block mixed used/shopping district that will connect the convention center with Main street.

Why would they do that? It has a nice size already. Build more residential units around the park.

Yeah, it's more residential/retail space AND an expansion of the CC.

Can't wait to see it...

And where exactly would you expand Discovery Green?

They need to add residential units to make this area thrive. Lots of young professionals have jobs downtown and Med Ctr, it only makes sense.

i think if they get rid of the parking lots, then the price for parking will sky rocket for the people who work in downtown....and it's high enough already....

You're right, but it seems it's heading in that direction anyway. Surface lots are being bought up and developed. That why I park my car and ride the bus.
