Do a search on www.har.com and click on the map as well to see the locations. Good luck!

Not really surprised. I know of 2 locations where they are either across the street or a few blocks away from each other. They're both always packed.

Right. They aren't that much alike.

Wow this really turned negative...all I wanted was a little info on the area.I am aCrew Member at the Danville,Ca store, store # 65...if those who need verification call me there...they will know who to get when you ask for the manager going to Texas.
As for the info I give out,it is not info I am not worried about giving you.....we are all over the news in the areas we are moving to.The when/where can be very fluid at this time.We don't always know the exact details all the time.We let the folks in Monrovia do that and give us the info we need , when we need it.I was going to go to the Naples,Florida location(Just opened on the 10th) but things in Texas were put on a fast track.....and in my previous work, long ago I lived in Austin and liked the idea of a return trip to Texas.
I am not in your area so i have no freaking clue as to what former building or new building we are going to go into.I don't even have an address for the Woodlands store, just two cross streets.Voss is 1409 or 1440...who knows.
Austin is in 2013 or it has changed to 2012,the third Houston store is in Sugar Land or maybe not.As I said it's very fluid at this time.......I will make this my last post as others seem to be more concerned about ripping me a new one for asking what it's like to live there, some of you spend way to much time and effort on here......being negative versus giving some positive feedback to someone interested in your area.I hope it's not that way when we build in Colorado....no it's no secret ....it was in the news.
I want to thank those that sent me private messages with great info , even info on the best fishing in that area of the state.
I am still looking forward to coming to Texas, hiring some great Crew Members in the area, being involved in the local charities and meeting/making some loyal Trader Joe's customers.....Thanks again!

That's the area I was thinking would make the most sense for the next expansion.

As long as it's okay with your company for you to post here, it's all gravy, man. Most companies are sensitive to their information being leaked until they are prepared to do so on their own terms, but it seems Trader Joe's is one of the exceptions. Best of luck on your move.

Norcal, I actually work in the building 1616 Voss right next to the Voss location. Can't wait to be able to walk to the store. Anyway, I drive to the Woodlands at least once a week but live somewhat close to the office. I can give you some tips either way, so PM if you need. Just glad they nixed the luxury retirement condos. Really didn't feel like looking out the window and accidentally seeing half dressed senior citizens.

So - back to the original question.

I have lived all over the world but am in Houston by personal choice, i.e. I like it here. However, there are a few downsides, one of them being that most of the area is a patchwork of housing developments surrounded by strip malls, billboards and power lines.

Since the store locations are somewhat fluid I will just recommend three areas that you might want to consider - these struck me as the nicest areas when we were looking to move here 4 years ago.

In Spring - look in the Champions area. In addition to Champions, Kingwood and The Woodlands are both nice, very large, planned communities. Kingwood is older. They both have sign ordinances, mostly underground power lines etc. I prefer The Woodlands as it is newer, has much better shopping and restaurants, and has facilities such as the Cynthia Woods Pavilion. All three are worth investigating before you make your decision.
