i'd take atascocita. Mont belvieu is highly industrial oil refinery country with heavy truck traffic. At least anywhere close to i-10 is. Unless you work in the oil business I wouldn't live out there.

My company has huge operations in Mt Belvieu, I have been out there a few times and don't recall seeing any apartment complexes... i think the closest thing you'll have is on the beltway between I-10 and 90... Atascocita is nice but it's pretty far north...

I live out in the Mont Belvieu area, and the only reason people move out here is for the large acreage lots, and the above average school system. We also boast a low crime rate and rapidly expanding commercial and industrial areas. There is only one apartment complex that you could consider (mostly because the other one in town is old and falling apart) & that is Eaglebrook apartments. which are located right next to Thrif-tee food center across from the brand new 70+ acre city park on Eagle Drive. Their website is:The Eaglebrook Apartments (http://www.eaglebrookapts.com/ - broken link)

The industrial areas that everyone else mentions are confined to the Grand Parkway and Tx-146 while the upscale area that that everyone lives in is 1-2 miles away off Eagle Drive (FM-3180). The population is expanding so rapidly that Mont Belvieu has just started to upgrade Eagle Drive to a 4 lane Avenue (this should be finished in 2015).

Mont Belvieu is well known for it's country feel, if you are looking for a city atmosphere you should choose the Atascosita area, which is also a very safe, family friendly community with good schools. There are multiple apartment choices there.
