We are relocating from Arizona to Houston. Heat will not be an issue! We have been househunting for weeks. Such a big city and so much to choose from. We have 2 small children who will start school soon, so that is important. We live in the suburbs of PHX and are comfortable and know that the burbs with family is okay with us. We have seen great homes in Seinna Plantaion and great homes in Lake Houston area. Any thoughs on the difference...schools, demographics, etc. The commute is to South Houston and once a week to Beaumont. Any thoughts would be most welcome.

In that case, Missouri city/sienna will be a lot closer to the Hobby area. I know that Sienna is one of the best places to live in in Texas. And food school district too

I have been to summer wood before and it looks pretty neat too but it is way too far and I'm not familiar with the school district there.

Both of them are pretty mixed when it comes to demographics. I noticed that in the southwest there is a little higher Asian and Indian population than the northeast.

Hope this helps!!

Beaumont is closer to Summerwood/Lake Houston

Sienna is more diverse and zoning is enforced as Summerwood it's all over the place nearby

Being that its only a once a week commute to Beaumont, I'd go with Sienna. I just spent the weekend at a relatives house there, and its a great place to live. Very nicely planned, though traffic out there is heavy, and cell phone coverage in parts of the community (inside homes and businesses at least) can be pretty spotty.
