Are any of the Louisiana casinos more family friendly than the others? Maybe with more children activities and amenities?

We have taken our family to L'auberge. It has a nice pool area, and some video games... It is my favorite casino in Lake Charles.... but as far as being family friendly.... that's tough....

Maybe family friendly isn't the right term... but something with lots of kids activities? Over in San Antonio, they have a couple resorts with lots of family activities spread throughout the days. I'd like something like this where I can take the family, and then have the nights to go win me some money!

As it stands, I don't think I'm going to drive out to one of these places by myself, and unless there's something for the family to do my wife isn't going to want to truck the family over. I need a selling point!

L'auberge would probably be your best option.

I guess my next question would be how old are the kids? But to tell you the truth, the place is so expensive that you are probably better off not bringing the family... I have done it both ways... with and without the kids... and it gets to be quite expensive... that's the problem when they are the only option in town... What seems to work out better for me is to leave Houston in the AM, get there right around lunch, gamble a little bit, then get some lunch... gamble some more and come back in the evening... When I took the family we would spend the day at the pool, eat and drink there (very very expensive) and then had some dinner, everybody in bed by 9pm and then I had time to gamble until the early morning hours... but then everybody had a full night sleep and ready to go to the pool while I was tired trying to get some rest...

It's a nice option to have, probably the closest thing to Vegas around here, but if you want to spend some time with the family that ain't it... you can't have your cake and eat it too... I tried... expensive cake...

Never thought of casinos as family friendly entertainment.

Why not, you can gamble the kids college fund while they are hanging out of the pool.

Except there is no gambling near San Antonio.

I take my two children to L'auberge every year. My ODS has been going since he was 3 (he is 7 now) and my YDS has been going since he was a infant. We go with a large family group so that we can take turns doing activities with the children while the other adults gamble.

My ODS loves L'auberge and looks forward to the trip ever year. He loves the swimming pool, arcade, and trying out all the restaurants. There are not a lot of children staying at the hotel but staff have been welcoming when we visit.
