Conroe is a beautiful place. It is VERY wooded and has nice, scenic rolling hills throughout the city. Housing price is not too bad (no more expensive than other suburban Houston locations). Schools are good, crime is low, and The Woodlands Mall is not too far away. There is a shopping center off of Teas Road (built on a significant hill), that has a bunch of stores and restaurants.

Only thing I don't like about Conroe? Rush-hour traffic. I have, a time or two, spent longer at RH getting through Conroe going north on 45 than through all of Houston during the construction. I know things were tore up, but it's not easy for a town that small to take 45 minutes to get through on the freeway.

I will say that the last time I was through there was right before they opened the new expanded 45 - is it better now?

So did my family. It seems to be a very nice area. My daughter will go to Woodlands High School which I hear is very good.
