Anyone know what that land is being cleared for? Haven't heard a peep anywhere! Also, has anyone heard any development of a 2nd Clubhouse for Aliana... Seems like we'll outgrow this current one in another few years...

I've watched the land being cleared as well, hopefully it's not for an apartment complex.

Yes, if its apartment complex then Aliana would take a hit.

If that site isn't an apartment complex, then likely another site nearby will be, probably soon. Surely no one who buys in suburban Houston would assume otherwise, that would be ridiculous. Do people really think that just because they have spent over $200K for a home, that somehow they can wish away multifamily or entry-level single family (under $130K)? Even our fanciest masterplanned communities have those elements zoned to the same schools. They doesn't hurt the community, certainly not enough to justify the complaining.

Might get lucky and get office space, so far I haven't seen them till the land so it's probably just being put up for sale now. That segment of Grand Pwky is a tollway so an apartment isn't too likely.

They are going to build at least one additional club house. Not sure when or where at this time, but it will happen.

That hasn't deterred apartment development along Westpark tollway.

Generally, a developer in a MPC won't sell land that they have designated as multi-family until the area is close to sold out - they don't want to scare away potential homeowners. But you will see apartments along that segment of 99 before long. The first will likely be behind the new theater that is being built or at Bellaire and 99.

They have a facebook page (with construction pics) - they keep pushing the timeline back. Last I checked they were predicting March/April, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I just found this chron.com article quoting an opening date of March 1. I don't know if it looks ready to open in two weeks.
