I just got my second bill from Aqua Texas and they always charge me for base facility for sewer and water which is 70+ dollars. That means I'll be paying everymonth for this on top of my water usage. This is too much.

Is there anybody in the NW area who has the same problem?

Default I wish I know this before I move in

I'm living NW Houston, zip 77064 area, I bought the house not long ago, now I just found out my water bill from Aqua Texas has been keep on raising, they charge Water Base Facility Charge $29.10, Sewer Base Facility Charge 54.01, my water usage $6.58, plus $3 some other fee, That means even I don't use water at all, I will have to pay eighty something dollars each month, that doesn't sound fair at all.
I found some information about this issue

I guess the best way is to contact our state representative

a friend of mine pays $140 in that same NW region. I paid $8.00 last month for water & sewage in Alief, with lots of watering of the new sod, front and back, 2 people in the house, car wash and cleaning painting tools etc. the carpenters for the other houses were also using my water
I've been warning people about this service provider but I guess I started too late

Angry Utility Bills are relative to where you live

Utility Bills are relative to where you live. This may sound like a no-brainer response but I pay over $300 p/mo. for water/sewer in the San Francisco Bay Area during the summer months. This is for a relatively smallish 3/1 home in an expensive neighborhood. Here at least, trying to keep the lawns green in the summer can really add up.

Municipal water companies are virtual monopolies. For me, the moral of the story is to do your homework BEFORE you buy into an area. Details count when it comes to researching your future cost of living and unfortunately, water/energy costs seem to be on the rise everywhere...

I guess now is too late, have no choice but move to other place, electricity bill is high but at least I got to choose which provider I like the most, but for water, we got no choice, unless I drill a well on my backyard, or else just have to keep on paying the high bill. What makes me feel more angry is that the aqua texas, inc keep on posting growing earnings while suck up the $$$ from their customer.
found the water service provider by map here:
http://www.hcphes.org/waterdb/getresults.asp

can someone share which location you lived at and how much you paying? I will definately going to get away from this blood sucking company.

I got my first bill. I live at 77041, 2000 sq ft. Two people. From AQUA TEXAS, Base Facility Charge $29.10, Sewer Base Facility Charge 54.01. Same as above. I asked them, even I shut off my water, I still need to pay $83.11. I think this is unreasonable. I will write the complaint letter to them in formal.

Please send e-mail to Corbin130@aol.com, Corbin Van Arsdale. I think he can do something for us. I already sent it.

my friend just told me he got burned a few times with the $25 late fee eventhough he mailed his payment early

i think it would be helpful if you guys can map their service area to inform the next batch of house seekers.
