Hello Everyone,

I am currently helping a family member in need but once I am finished I plan to relocate to Houston (Pearland/Freindswood Area). Iv heard good things about the job market in Houston so I am hoping that I can find something before its is time for me to relocate.

As far as search for a job, im hoping that my address (showing GA) will not hinder me from possible employment even though I know that there is strong possibility that it will. With that being said, would it be within my benefit to purchase a P.O Box so that I can show something with an address or in TX or possibly change my number to resemble that I live there?

Also as far as housing is concerned, I have been doing my research and seen the the Pearland area is pretty pricey (800 and up for apartments). Are there any other areas that I have slightly less expensive rent? I know you get what you pay for so I not seeking anything dirt cheap just affordable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank!:

What field are you in?

Here is the biggest issue with getting a job before you move to Houston- the applicant pool in Houston is so massive that they have near zero need to interview out of state applicants. Even if you put a local address but mention that you need to make arrangements to fly in for an interview, make arrangements to move, let them know your current job is out of state, etc. you will be at a disadvantage. It's not impossible, just very difficult.
