How much should I pay for electrician to run a new light (ceiling) fixture, some GFCIs above the kitchen counter, and a couple of electric outlets on my back porch? Just looking for ballpark numbers. Thanks.

Not sure of accuracy for Houston but I've used this as a guide before.

Is this in the city limits of Houston? The reason I ask is because permits are required in the city, and since only Master Electricians can pull permits, it won't be cheap work. You can probably find someone to do it without a permit though most likely.

If the wiring isn't already there its going to be quite expensive.

Golfer, you're in western Memorial right?
Contact these guys. i've had them do several jobs for me, and found them very reasonable for electricians. They've replace my panel, grounded the house, ran electrical for the driveway gate, put pool pumps on their own panel and replaced their timers, put in LED cans, etc.

I've heard that electricians are busier than <insert cliche here> right now. Good luck getting one to come any time soon.

OP, do us a favor and let us know back how much, and lead time. I'd be curious to hear the real scoop.

Thanks and good luck!
