Thinking of leaving sometime on the morning Friday 5th and returning on Saturday. Would traffic be crazy? Thanks

Returning Saturday will be fine. Are you taking I 10 or 290?

I 10 at Columbus can get bottlenecked. But on Sat not so bad.

I-10 71 is faster than 290. It depends on where on Lake Travis you will be. Traffic will not be bad.

It's a very short drive. As long as traffic (if any) is moving, just enjoy the drive.

I had heard the water level on Lake Travis was so low you couldn't take boats out on it. Maybe they got rain since then though.

I always take 290 because it's a prettier drive once you get out of Houston. It does take longer though. And, you can stop off at Chapel Hill for sausage on the way home!

I'm going to be making that drive. Starting off Friday evening and returning Sunday afternoon. Planning to take I10 and 71. Here's hoping its not too bad.

Stay in the channel to avoid damaging your prop.

At the moment, Travis is down by nearly 55 feet ( Water Data For Texas )

If the boat is at a marina on the water, it might be ok. If it is dry racked at a marina, it will depend. If it's on a trailer somewhere, well, there's always Canyon Lake.

Every ramp at Travis is closed right now. I wouldn't go to Lake Austin if you paid me, because it's going to be a dangerous zoo this weekend with Travis being essentially closed.
