live in Katy. I got a lot of them blown out from one of the ceiling vents tonight. not sure if these are termites or flying ants. Thank you.

If it has wings, it is either a drone ant or a drone termite. It could also be the even bigger queen ant or termite. The termite is analogous with the ant, but it is different in that it is related to the cockroach.

Both the drones and queens of both ants and termites are thrown out of their nests once a year to mate and to form new colonies. If you have them flying within your residence, you have a problem. Have a looksy around the slab to see if there exist any termite tunnels they built of dried mud for protection as they travel back and forth from in the ground to wood.
