My company is currently considering bringing our residential services to Houston and I was thinking of getting some input from the forum users here. Here are several of my questions to the residents of Houston:

1. Would you pay $100/month for 1 Gigabit Internet service?
2. Would you pay $70/month for 100 Mbps Internet?
3. Would you pay $50/month for 20 Mbps Internet?

Our company already has metro fiber throughout the city and are interested in bringing Houston 'up to speed'.

Appreciate any/all comments....

Thanks!

I'd pay $100 for a gigabit. I already pay over $100 for 100 mb from Comcast.

So its 100/mo and you are capped to only 1 gig of stuff you can download?

So if I bought a PC game on steam and tried to download it I could run out of my limit in one night?

No thanks, on another more international forum I am on the Canadians and Aussies are constantly bitching about their capped internet.

Or I am I just confused here and those are speeds you posted and it would be uncapped? Sorry I like playing on my PCs but am actually really naive with tech.

Like with comcast I am getting around 65mbps DL and 14 upload when I go to speedtest.net, if thats $100/mo to increase my speed by roughly 40% then yea I would pay it in a heartbeat and would love to give Comcast the finger and a big F U

I am currently paying $50 bucks for 50mbit through Comcast. I would not switch. If I get rid of part of my package with Comcast they raise the rates for other stuff. One day the tech companies will break the oligopoly that Comcast and ATT has here. It is absurd the rates they charge for cable tv. The internet prices are too high too. I wish Google Fiber was coming to Houston and not Austin.

1. Yes.
2. Yes
3. No. 20mbps should be no more than $25.

New company??? No way!!! I need to know dependability of the services. It would be some time before I would EVEN think of switching.
