I have some bags of chocolate. The bags are still sealed but they are expired. I feel bad to just throw them away. How can I get rid of them? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks

My 5-year-old will be sending you our address.

I believe there is a program where you can donate halloween candy to help soldiers in some fashion. I'll see if I can find that.

Edit - Found it - http://www.halloweencandybuyback.com/

But they are EXPIRED, even the bags are still sealed. This is the most concern I am having now. Can I donate them even they are expired?

No. Toss them. There probably isn't anything wrong with them but it's kinda classless to give them to a nursing home or something when they're expired.

Chocolate doesn't seem to go bad. I've eaten chocolate that was years old and nothing ever happened.

I once sneaked into a museum and ate some 2,500 year old Mayan chocolate when the had that Mesoamerican Civilization exhibition. A little gritty, but overall not too bad.

I didn't know that chocolate expired. I would think it would have to be really old to be bad. The manufacturers may just have a date that they don't want stores selling it, for maximum freshness.

Why feel bad? If is expired it is better to trash it away than share.
