Greetings

I've been looking around the site and wanted to ask some advice from y'all. I grew up in Maplewood and lived there until I graduated high school (go SJ) when I moved to Austin and then Dallas for law school. After 4 years in Dallas, I'm beginning to think I've had enough and am ready to come back to Houston.

I'm hoping for suggestions as to areas of town I should look at. I'd like to be in a younger area of town (still single), but will be bringing my Golden Retriever down with me, so hopefully an area near a park or a townhome/house with a decent yard he can go out in when I'm at work.

I've spent alot of time in Midtown, but don't know much about Heights area. Any other suggestions y'all can give me? I'd like to stay inside the Loop, but would look just outside if the right situation presented itself. Under no circumstances do I want to move outside the Beltway.

Thanks for all y'all's help. Have a great Thanksgiving and an even better T-Day + 1. Hook 'em Horns.

If you are looking for an apartment, you might want to check out some of the apartments in the Timbergrove area off TC Jester. Walking paths and small fields along White Oak Bayou would be a great place to walk the dog.

Thanks for the reply. I'll take a look at it. How does White Oak Bayou compare to Braes Bayou?

White Oak in that area and in one area closer to where it meets buffalo bayou is improved with walking trails and areas to relax. Braes does not have all the improvements but does have some and I am not as familiar with those areas. Both bayous can flood but the new apartments closer to TC Jester and 18th appear to be on higher ground and they are pretty nice too.

Check out Rice Military along Washington Avenue. There's a dog park on Allen Parkway at Studemont nearby.

You didn't mention how much you wanted to spend. Are you looking to rent or own?

Well, I think it might be time for me to finally put down and own. I'd look at between 300K and 400K. Thanks.
