2 years to late. Rick Smith should've been fired too, along with the Owner.

After the home jax loss I knew this was Kubes last year, after last night I thought 'I wonder if he makes it to Sunday.'

The GM usually has a longer rope as he is closer to the owners ear.

Depends on who the owner is. Bob McNair has proven to be to soft when it comes to making changes. Gary was hired in 2006 (Rick Smith I believe too) and since then has won 2 Playoff games. Rick Smith is just as responsible for this mess along with the botched signings of FAs.

Now let's just hope they don't do something like making Wade Phillips coach. There are some hard decisions that need to be made (like getting rid of some huge contracts).

The thing I take away from this is that Kubiak is a top notch stand up person. A lot of people could take a lesson from how he handled himself in the face of all the criticism and challenges this year. Great reminder that football is just a sport and how you handle yourself is vastly more important.

Football isn't a sport anymore, its ran just like a business these days. Even down to the college & high school levels.

I think it was probably time to change leadership too, but why not wait until the end of the season? The timing seemed more about saving the GM's butt than anything Kubiak did last night.

It had a lot to do with Kubiak constantly taking Keenum out of games when he's a rook and needs playing time. Not for just him but to see if we need to look for a QB in the draft if he shows no improvement. Playing Matt at this point is dumb. We know what he's capable of and that's mediocrity when it matters most. He's a dead man walking (not literally of course) like Kubiak, hopefully.
