Lighting of Post Oak on Thanksgiving Eve. Santa shows up in a helicopter and the whole street is closed. Feels like a small town affair. I've always loved it.

VERY old thread. Should have started a new one. Anyway, I don't like the lack of Christmas related activities here. That's why I'm off to Europe soon
It's an American thing, I guess.

The tree lighting on S. Post Oak seems to have replaced the Traditional lighting Down Town. Everything Down town has been displaced, or replaced it seems. Good $6.00 Beers though.

We just had the largest in the State....the Nutcracker Market at Reliant, two fashion shows a preview party and over a thousand vendors,
Sugar Land had a Christmas market last week also.

Heights Market Nov 30 - Dec 2 at the Heights Fire Station, 107 W. 12th Street (at Yale), Houston, Texas 77008,
Another Holiday market is off Telge Rd held by the Cy fair FAA not sure of the dates. I think Second Baptist also has a market to go along with the Christmas spectacular show.
