We are less than 48 hours from potential impact. I guess businesses and school districts need to plan accordingly.

Yeah, I see that the New Orleans area also has a Winter Storm Watch; but not Austin, Dallas, or San Antonio?

Dallas will be cold and DRY. All the moisture will be concentrated further south in Texas. Austin may or may not see much. As for us we are still expecting some impact but it's always hard forecasting the timing of the cold air and precipitation in our region. Honestly, we really can't be sure if we will see anything until the day of the event. Could get more, could get nothing.

Temps may bottom out Tues night. We could see upper teens!!

Maybe in the northern areas of the metro; However, abc13 still has Houston in the 20s.

I got the info from a private meteorologist on a weather forum. I never watch the local news for weather. He said that the latest Computer guidance shows 17 degree low and it could possibly be lower if we have snow on the ground.

In Northern states, they made sure to build highways with very few bridges/overpasses.
Houston highways have overpasses every mile.
Add to that, the fact that the roads are not gonna be cleaned or salted.

I clearly remember the five bridges in the small town where I lived in Missouri because those were the only places you had to be really careful when driving in Winter.

Bit of cold and everyone goes nuts like last week. When I was coming home towards Conroe on the Interstate people where driving 50MPH and the roads were just a bit wet.
