I used to use b4-u-eat.com all the time to find restaurants around town. The list was completely exhaustive and they had them all categorized by country (not just cuisine) and by neighborhood. Now they're gone. Does anyone know where else you can go online to find restaurants listed by country/area of town along with ratings?

Yelp user reviews are more up to date

Google maps then find the restaurant on the map and click on it for a review

It was a good site that I used often. Now I use 29-95.com or yelp for most stuff.

This was a pretty common rumor regarding b4-u-eat. Not sure how accurate it was, but it certainly made the rounds.

Open Table has reviews that sound like real people, rather than those cruising for blog fame.

I find the yelp reviews too much in most cases.

Yelp is rigged. Some businesses can get the poor reviews put off the main feed and only have positive ones. I loved yelp until I realized that they can control certain reviews.

B4 u eat had a lot of data but it was weirdly organized. I always felt overwhelmed trying to use it. I prefer a website that will say which restaurants are most consistently highly rated.

Haven't used Open table much, will look at it. You are right about yelp, while some of it is good, lots of wannabe blogger/critics on there. Didn't know they are so active in filtering reviews though.
