I just recently moved to Houston in March and am staying in temporary housing until I can find a place to rent. My wife and I want to rent prior to buying because we want to get to know the areas first before making a decision on where to settle. I will be working in Westchase outside of 8 (westheimer) and do not want to spend 45-60 minutes in traffic. Therefore we were looking at Sugarland as a potential location. Some specifics:

*We'd like to stay between 1400-1600 in budget for rent for 3/4 BR house
*We'd like it to be zone to some really good elementary schools (daughter will be 8)
*Drive time to work should be less than 30 minutes

Does Richmond and Missouri city also meet these criteria? What neighborhoods in Sugarland, Richmond and Missouri City would you recommend?

Thanks in advance. Looking to move my family here in beg of June and have utilized HAR.

You will need to up your budget to be in Sugarland. Your going to be looking at closer to $2,000. Just search Houston Real estate, Houston homes, Houston Realtors - HAR.com and type the zip code you want to live in. Katy (south) is going to be the same deal.

At the bare minimum. It took us months to find something acceptable in the Clear Lake area. It seemed like the magic number was closer to $3000. I would suspect Sugar Land is much the same. Good luck!

What zip codes would you suggest? Thanks
